Ruby - Ruth Andre

I did a studio Waltz today, meaning I picked up the brushes and moved the paint around after a month away from painting.  The dance felt like I had to remember where to put my feet and how to move once again.  My camera is still packed so you are seeing an iPhone photo of this Texas Longhorn cow painting of Ruby.  I see changes and a need for a better photo but I wanted to touch base and get back to posting.  I am taking one step at a time and that includes making today,
 "A Painting Day".

While I Was Gone - Ruth Andre

My last Blog post was December 24, 2011.  A whole world of events have transpired since that time.
The most important being my mother, Lorean Armes, died on January 6th, 2011, leaving many memories with all that knew her.  I have learned there is always good that comes with what seemingly seems sad so in the next weeks, months and years I will continue to share life stories that helped me be
the person I am today due to my mother's diligent teachings.
I will also share painted images of those things that brought joy and comfort to me while I was gone.

Blazing Cottonwoods - Ruth Andre

While in Amador City last week I painted this lively painting down by the creek that runs through town.  The cottonwoods were blazing with color making for, "A Painting Day".

Oak Shadow - Ruth Andre

I live in the flat of the valley floor close to the creek.  My neighbor's Ron and Donna live up the hill sometimes referred to as the Banana Belt because the sun shines on their ranch much earlier than ours and they rarely have frost on the ground and we seem to have a blanket of frost each and every morning.
It is cold here in the valley.
R & D also have a very nice view and this is one of the oaks they see daily.
I enjoyed having, "A Painting Day" not far from home.

Back Home

When I saw this old house it reminded me of the homesteads I have visited that once belonged to my grandparents in Southern Illinois.  It also reminded me of home and how wonderful it is to go back home for the holidays to be with family and friends.  Thinking about times past made for, "A Painting Day.
