Funny Face

This little painting has been in the On Hold file for awhile.  It needed more attention and yesterday was the day this little guy went back to the easel.  I met Funny Face at a ranch in the mid-west.  His momma is a Texas Longhorn and his daddy is Angus.  Momma was big and daddy was bigger and I got to see daddy up close when he nudged my back sending me in quiet retreat to the nearest pasture gate.  Meeting Funny Face made for, "A Painting Day".

Texas Lady & A Love Story

I got in the mood to paint a cow after reading a wonderful old fashion love story by Ree Drummond-The Pioneer Woman.  Ree lives on a cattle ranch on the open plains of Oklahoma miles away from the city life she had become accustomed to while growing up and then later when she went off to college on the west coast.  The book is a very uplifting bit of fun and takes  you back to the old movie days when romance was what we all expected and treasured. Click this link to read a review for Black Heels To Tractor Wheels.  Taking a step back to enjoy a bit of romance made for, "A Painting Day".
