"Sand Creek"
8"x10" oil & cold wax on canvas
by Ruth Andre
The Ranchera Creek, here in the valley, has been the subject for many of my paintings over the years. After the last few days of rain the creek has finally started flowing after months of being dry. The drought here in California has already started taking a toll on the wildlife and natural grasses. We are promised another storm this coming week and hopefully it will help us get through the seasons without too much damage. Thinking how important the creek is to the wildlife and the valley lands has made for,
"A Painting Day".

I like the layers in this painting. Good to hear that you are getting some much-needed rain.

Really like this piece. I feel it has texture galore.
I hope you receive more rain; I know how much it's needed.
