"Racing for Gold"
6"x8" oil & mixed media on canvas panel
by Ruth Andre
When you live in the Gold Rush country in Northern California the remnants of the past are in view daily . Old gold mines still stand and panhandlers settle in at the creek banks as they pan for gold. The Gold Rush changed the west and maybe the world as people came from many countries with the wish to find gold. Thinking about the Sutter Street gold strike has made for, "A Painting Day".
