Apple of My Eye

A few  years ago I painted this little Appaloosa filly.  The previous painting was 10x10-inches.  This one is 4x4-inches and the two paintings look like they were painted by two different people.  This one is a lot looser and has a bit of freedom in the use of color.   Maybe I am having a growth spurt?  Taking on the challenge to revisit the Appaloosa filly made for, "A painting day".

Valentine

This is a painting I completed awhile back. It is of a beautiful Appaloosa mare. I have a very sick horse at home right now and spending my time going back and forth to the pasture to medicate Angel's eye every two hours. It is so sad to see this lovely mare in distress. I did get a painting started today and if all is good tomorrow I will be sharing a just completed horse painting. Being the medic made for," A Stop & Go Painting Day".

Rosarita

I don't know what it is but the days are zipping by and there seems to be no end in sight of things to do away from the studio. It is frustrating to have your day planned and the one and only thing you want to do is be in the studio and then the plan changes and you are here there and everywhere. Today, I am posting Rosarita. The little filly is taking a look back and I think it may be what I need to do to keep moving forward. Rosarita is a 2009 filly from the Sawyer Creek Appaloosa Farm in New York. They have a very neat website with a photo camera in the foaling stall. The mares are tricky and find ways to have their babies, when you head into the kitchen for a cup of coffee. Seeing this little filly, made for, "A Painting Day".
