The Quest, my Quest is to continue to grow as an artists as I stretch my wings and try new things with the paint. I have been wanting to paint a larger palette knife painting so today I went at it. The canvas is only 14x14 inches square but compared to a small 6x6 inch square canvas it took a lot more energy and I might add, a lot more paint. This is the beginning of what I hope is a series of sky paintings. We shall see how things proceed? Taking on the challenge, made for, "A Painting Day".

Congrats on your larger canvas and stretching your wings :).
I've been attempting some painting knife work with first attempts in molding paste, but I seem to end up spreading it like frosting, so definitely need more practice. Unless I plan on painting pics of cakes. lol
Stay inspired!
Michele, I would love to see your paintings. I love the photos on your blog site. Intriguing!
Thanks so much for your kind words Ruth. I only have a couple traditional pieces at present that haven't been painted over. lol
tree of possibilities acrylic, tissue paper, gel medium, molding paste
response acrylic, tissue paper, gel medium, molding paste, embroidery floss
I have just prepped another canvas with a liberal amount of molding paste and hope to complete a piece from a figure sketch to continue my studies that first resulted in my digital piece spectator.
Stay inspired!
What a beautiful painting. I'm looking forward to you sky series :)
I had always been reading your blog name as "A painting A day". I just noticed that it's just "A Painting Day". I'm so relieved that you don't really have to do a painting every day but it looks like that's what you usually do. This one, as usual, is beautiful!
