Eye Do

When I first started painting, the landscape was my chosen subject and then one day I looked out to the pasture at my four horses and asked myself why I was not painting these beautiful creatures?  I started painting just the eye of the horse on 8x8 inch canvas'.  It was a fun project.   I am still enamored with the horse's eye and continue to paint focused-cropped-portraits.  This eye portrait is a painting of Diamond, a beautiful Palomino mare and it is one of the first paintings of my eye series.  Seeing the beauty of the horse made for, "A Painting Day".

Baby Blue

This is Levi, a Palomino colt, owned by a rancher here in northern California.  I just loved seeing this little guy and had to paint him.  Meeting Levi made for, "A Painting Day".

*I want to say, thank-you to all that have sent good wishes for my mare, Angel.  Veterinarian, Vicki, was here this morning saying the eye was finally starting to show signs of healing.  We may be working with Angel for another 6 months to save her eye but the news today gave us hope so the trips to the barn, starting between 6:00 & 7:00 AM and ending at 10:30 PM will continue.

Golden Boy

This painting sketch is of a handsome golden Palomino. The color is almost unreal, it is so golden. Palomino horses are always impressive and much admired for their color. Seeing this Golden Boy, made for, "A Painting Day".
