Under the Oaks - Ruth Andre


The mornings are still very cold with the ground covered with frost. The horse's water troughs have a layer of ice that needs to be broken each morning. We seem to live in the valley's cold spot since we are so close to the creek and have shade from a high mountain. The creek water is icy but shows its colors as the light shines through the leafless oak branches.  As the water rushes through the valley, it has been,
