Red Sky - Ruth Andre

Driving home the other evening I could see the brilliant sun setting on the horizon. It was so intense, the color was seemingly unreal. Nature's beauty is endless and amazing. The day's end made for,
"A Painting Day".

"Red Sky" 8x8 inches, oil on canvas by Ruth Andre

I love the contrast of the bright red/orange against the brown!

Your new work is quite interesting, Ruth, and so different from your realism, which I love very much. These abstract paintings are very fun to look at too, and I hope you are having a lot of fun painting them.

I love the way each painting is informed by a specific life experience however "incidental" that might be. You seem to be creating some quite heavy texture in parts Ruth. Is this gesso or simply the paint applied in thick ribbons?
