Uthyr

I had fun this week-end reviewing a few photos I took at the Mystic Oak Ranch in Plymouth, California. Ken and Michele started the Mystic Oak Ranch in 2002 and specialize in Warmblood/Friesian crosses. My painting today is one of their stallions, Uthyr. The ranch website is very informative and you will enjoy seeing their horses. Check out the "Fun Photos" link. Visiting Mystic Oak Ranch made for, "A Painting Day".

It was great browsing through your animal portraits and getting to experience them. Beautiful, and full of personality.

Beautiful portrait. Wonderful violet tones. You make black so interesting!

Kerri & Karin, Thank-you so much for your comments. I try very hard to paint the horse as a real being with feelings and heart. The Black horse was a challenge to say the least. Thank-you for noticing the shades of violets.

Hi Ruth:
Blues, violets and grays... so many beautiful colours in your blacks.
Your animal paintings have so much depth of feeling.
