Morning Watch & Moses Botkin Challenge

The Moses Botkin Challenge caught each of the 6 members wishing for more time to complete our paintings. We all seem to be busy! There are a lot of shows going and work being painted and shipped. I too have my share of busy work that goes along with painting. Have I said enough to give me a good excuse for not finishing my Challenge painting? The image above is the beginning of my painting. The rest is still to come so this is indeed a Work-In-Progress painting. The Challenged title is "Wisdom" and I chose the hawk to symbolize the Innate Wisdom of Animals. I do look forward to finishing this piece and once it is completed I will post another photo. Thinking about wisdom has made for, "A Painting Day". The Challenge group paintings are shown below.

It's A Wash & October Moses Botkin Challenge

The Moses Botkin Challenges are always a challenge and usually a delight once you jump in and start painting. The Challenge for October was chosen by Robin Cheers. Each artist was given the same gray scale photo and we were to paint it in color. The challenge was to get the correct values. If you have a good composition and your values are correct you can paint in any color scheme you want and the painting will work. So we all went to work for, "A Painting Day". Pink Piglet & Diana Moses Botkin Challenge

Today is special due to the fact it is my first post for the Moses Botkin Challenge. There are 6 artists that participate in the challenge. The January Challenge was chosen by Sharman Owings to paint something that starts with the letters "p i". I gave that a bit of thought and came up with Pink Piglet. I hope you like this little piglet portrait. She was a lot of fun to paint. You will find paintings from the other Challenge members below. Taking on the Challenge made for, "A Painting Day".
