A Bit of News

Today the painting, "Cooper" found his new owners.  The painting was delivered to

 Erma and Joe and they loved their special keepsake portrait of their very sweet dog, Cooper.  

I want to share with you little Kaylie found her owner, Jim.  Jim was very pleased with Kaylie' portrait as well!

This is "Bison" a painting that went to the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum for the Panhandle Plains Invitational Art Show and sold at the opening reception.  I am very pleased that Bison found a home in the plains of Texas.  Bison Sold at the PPHM reception.

I enjoy painting and seeing how happy patrons are when they see their newly acquired paintings makes for more, "Painting Days".

Commission A Painting

Jack #2

Here is the second Jack Rabbit of the triptych in progress.  I am beginning to think when painting a triptych one needs to do them all at one time!!!!! Set the canvas' up and paint away.   After the third Jack Rabbit is completed I may need to go back and and finesse all three paintings so they have a harmonic continuity.  We shall see how it goes with Jack #3?  Are you with me?  Jack #1 was posted a few weeks ago so I will post him again next to Jack #2 below.  Seeing Rabbits has made for, "A Painting Day".

Happy New Year

Every year I take on writing down a few resolutions for the New Year.  Some get done and some take a few years to process.  I think writing down your goals is a good way to set them in motion.  This year I have one goal that made it to the top of the list and that is to start painting larger works once again.  I have been caught up with the small format day to day blog posts.  It is time to get back to my vision.  The photos below will give you an idea of what painting big looks like in my small 10x12 foot studio.  I am standing on a box in these photos.  The painting in progress is "Mystery" 60x40-inches.  Thinking BIG has made for, "A Painting Day".

Commission A Painting

What A Painting Day

Today I met up with my artist friends, Bruce Hancock and Howard Rees.  We met in Drytown and then headed down to Turner Road.  It is really pretty any time of the year here in the foothills but right now the hills are just starting to turn from gold to green.  You can see the grass just peaking through the taller dry grasses.  I have posted a few photos of both Bruce and Howard and a final painting from my easel. It is always fun to attempt the challenge to capture nature's beauty with brush and paint.

Baby Elk

Babies, no matter the species, are pretty much all adorable. This painting, Baby Elk, is a heavy dose of sweetness. He caught my eye. He looks to be a puff of fluff with big brown eyes. Seeing the baby elk in the wilds, made for, "A Painting Day".
