May Calendar

May is here and the green-green hills of winter and spring are just now turning to a golden hue.  It won't be long and the hills will be full of light with the sea of grasses making the oak trees dark silhouettes.  This is a favorite time of year and I hope you will enjoy the May Calendar.  I am off for, "A Painting Day".

Here is the second Jack Rabbit of the triptych in progress.  I am beginning to think when painting a triptych one needs to do them all at one time!!!!! Set the canvas' up and paint away.   After the third Jack Rabbit is completed I may need to go back and and finesse all three paintings so they have a harmonic continuity.  We shall see how it goes with Jack #3?  Are you with me?  Jack #1 was posted a few weeks ago so I will post him again next to Jack #2 below.  Seeing Rabbits has made for, "A Painting Day".

Jack #1

Here in the valley we have Jack Rabbits and they always make me smile when I see them hopping along in the pasture.  Their ears are long but I decided to paint this little Jack Rabbit close up to show off his big brown eyes.  "Jack #1" is the first in a series of three Jack Rabbits for a triptych series.  Finding this little Jack Rabbit made for, "A Painting Day".

Roberta

Rabbits were seen all over the farm lands in Missouri.  Farmers do not take kindly to these little creatures but I am sure even in farm country they are good for something. We have rabbits here in the foothills of Northern California but they look more like Jack Rabbits with long ears that stand straight up.  This little one just needed to be painted.  Seeing Roberta made for, "A Painting Day".
