Andre Art Prints - Ruth Andre

"Spring Clouds"
Framed Print on Paper
by Ruth Andre
I have had requests for prints for a few of my paintings so I decided it was time to add a gallery of prints to my website and blog. This post is a preview for the first available prints. The Online Gallery offers several printing options. I am showing framed prints in this post but canvas prints are available as well. If you would like to gift yourself or a friend to a print on paper with no frame that option is available. I have 15 paintings listed at this time and will be adding more images for printing in the next few days. Enjoy!
It has been many, "A Painting Day".

Castaway - Ruth Andre

"Castaway"
7"x7" Oil and Mixed Media on Paper
by Ruth Andre

I am painting for  a group in Paris. I sent four paintings out for review and now I wait to see if they will accept my work. The waiting on any showing is always a challenge  I know Paris really sounds exciting but I am trying to just paint and not think about it. Ha, Ha, Ha! I say that and here I am writing about it. I have decided that keeping my head down and painting is the best way to go no matter what the final decision may be. I have also been asked this week to participate in a very nice site and once my work is made available I will sing out and let you know the weblink. I have to say being invited to this site was very nice and also a surprise. You may be thinking what does this blog post have to do with the "Castaway" painting above and I guess it is my feeling of being out to sea. Maybe  it is just having what seems to be a lot going on with my art right now. The good stuff sometimes happens when we are in unknown waters. It has been, "A Painting Day".

Grasses - Ruth Andre

"Grasses"
7"x7" Oil and Mixed Media on Paper
by Ruth Andre
$189

My painting today is a reminder of the season's change. The summer heat and wind has dried the grasses in the valley a pale yellow. The grass heads have tasseled and as they flutter in the breeze seeds are released into the air. I wonder what the untamed land must have been like years ago.

Dry Lands - Ruth Andre

"Dry Lands"
5"x5" Oil and Mixed Media on Paper
by Ruth Andre

I have been painting more than posting lately and need to catch up this week. The season has changed dramatically with the temperatures rising to 105-degrees in just a day or two. I thought it was hot at just 98-degrees so I am in for a shock once things really heat up. The green grasses are almost gone and have taken on the a mellow tan color. Latter the grasses will turn a very pale yellow and the oaks will stand out as dark sentinels along the creek and the rolling mountain sides. It is a time for transition and wearing a big hat when out in the sun. It has been, "A Painting Day".

Lasting Memories - Ruth Andre

"Lasting Memories"
5"x5" Oil and Mixed Media on Paper
by Ruth Andre
$98
Matted - $125

There are memories that haunt and enliven but they are both lasting and seemingly make themselves known. I wonder why with so much in one's life there are those memories that create themselves over and over again. Maybe they are there to remind us of the good in our lives to be thankful and appreciative and then the haunting memories might remind us what we need to atone for in this life. A good friend of mine has said, she would not change one thing in her life. I was so shocked by this statement and amazed with what must be her happiness or her endurance. She has not had a life without challenges. I know I have had many lessons in this life and try to understand the why of it all. The Lasting Memories are there for the duration. There is  no replay button or going back. Take care, it has been, "A Painting Day".

Desert Sands - Ruth Andre

"Desert Sands"
16"x46" Oil and Mixed Media on Paper
by Ruth Andre

Today's painting is a diptych and each piece will be framed separately but I wanted to show the two pieces side by side for this post. I would like to get away to the desert for a few days  but for now painting will be my only refuge. It has been, "A Painting Day".

A Painting Day - Makes Me Wonder - Ruth Andre

"Makes Me Wonder"
36"x24" Mixed Media on Linen
by Ruth Andre
$2,400

It feels so good to get back to the studio this week. I had been searching for canvas and found several 36"x24" linen canvases. For some reason courage and inventory hit my senses at the same time and I hauled a few into the studio. This is the first large painting for 2016 and I hope to do more. The title came from my introspective thinking that goes along with starting a new series. There is always more than what appears in front of us and there is always more than one way to view a situation. Different views on any given subject often make me wonder.  How about you? Take care. It has been,
"A Painting Day".

A Painting Day - Summer Grasses - Ruth Andre

"Summer Grasses"
4.5"x4.5" Oil and Cold Wax on Paper"
Hand Cut Mat 12"x12"
Challenge Painting Thirty-Eight
by Ruth Andre

Today I want to share a photo I took while driving into town yesterday. In the photo you will see the tall almost white grass that lines the road way. The summer grasses are bleached by the sun until they almost sparkle. The dark oak trees are so beautiful with the background of the quiet pale grasses. This was my inspiration for today's painting. It has been, "A Painting Day".

A Painting Day - Desert Path - Ruth Andre

"Desert Path"
6"x6"x1" Oil & Mixed Media on Cradled Panel
by Ruth Andre

I have found when change happens it appears to happen quickly catching those around us off guard. Is no one paying attention or is it we are all thinking nothing will change? Boundaries move and life changes. I have felt a need to make a change with my painting. The vision is there but letting the vision come freely to the canvas is sometimes no easy task. The painting above is an idea of the change that I would like to make. It is just a first step but a step none the less and that counts for quite a lot. This small painting took hours to complete. My goal being to find a subtle softness in the image. There are shades of white, pink and orange and many layers of transparent paint to give the work depth. The painting is a beginning of something new and has made for, "A Painting Day".

I am always amazed how paintings change once framed. The three painting above are all triptychs and I chose to frame each of the three individual works in one frame. I hope you enjoy seeing the transformation. The New Year is just days away and my resolution list is growing. The creative spirit is alive in all that we do and surrounds us daily. A Painting Day - Passages - Ruth Andre

"Passages"
4"x18" oil & mixed media on Arches paper
by Ruth Andre

"Passages"
Original Oil on Paper by Ruth Andre
Giclee prints will be available in 2015

Today was a day to stop and enjoy a few moments tucked away in my studio. I, like everyone else I know have been making lists and shopping to get ready for the holidays. As the year comes to an end it is a time to give and to reflect and to set goals for the coming year. My thoughts turned to the passing of time and the passages of our life. Today's painting is called, "Passages" and it is painted on  Arches paper. I felt that this work on paper was successful and that led me to think about making multiple prints of the image. My mind is buzzing with ideas and it is exciting. I truly hope your holiday is filled with joy and love and may the New Year be filled with great happiness.
