Landfall - Ruth Andre

"Landfall"
10"x10"x1.5" Oil & Mixed Media on Panel
by Ruth Andre

I remember one summer day mowing the yard on our farm in Missouri. I looked out on the horizon and saw a wall of water coming my way. It was all I could do to race for the barn and pull in just missing getting soaked from the rain. Oh the rain smelled so good and the metal roof intensified the sound of the rain making it seem wildly exciting. Simple things have made for, "A Painting Day".

Ruth, this is just stunning! It looks like reflections on water to me and I really love it!

I agree with Theresa; it does suggest reflections, the wonderful kind where the viewer's imagination and memory inform. I think we would all see something unique to each of us in your painting's "reflections."

I love that little bit of darker value towards the top. This painting I would like to own.
