Meet Me Under the Old Oak

While out painting Thursday morning I just had about 45 minutes left before Julie and I had planned to leave and I thought I would paint one small 6x4 inch canvas.  I was painting a huge oak so it is kind of fun to see this massive tree contained within this small canvas.  The clouds had started to come in and I was thinking rain so mixed the paints and set the palette knife in motion.  I love the spontaneous feeling of this painting.  Thinking big and small made for, "A Painting Day".

This one is overpowering in strength of emotion! I can glimpse the torn bits of yellow ribbon too!

Great texture and colors! I wish I could see this one in person. The way the colors mingle together is really beautiful.
