Trail-Side

I was out painting and it was cold with the morning frost just starting to melt on the ground.  The bluff was still in shade while the hillside in the background was alive with sunshine.  The colors of the old oak and the brushy trees along the trail side were varied shades of dark reds and grey greens.  It was a special time and it made for, "A Painting Day".

Nice Work! Enjoyed hearing the mood of the 'Painting day". It was so perfectly sunny here in NW FL, I couldn't resist painting out this morning.

This is so beautiful, Ruth. Wonderful mosaic effect that you achieve with the palette knife, and I LOVE the dash of blue sandwiched in between the orange and gold in the lower right!

I see you are doing some palette knife work... love the rich impasto look to these pieces.
